Our staff have extensive experience and a wealth of knowledge when it comes to school visits!

Our bird of prey and owl talks are specifically targeted at school children from reception class upwards, including secondary schools, colleges and Universities. They are informative yet fun, ensuring your pupils' attention and imagination are captured.

We are able to cover a wide range of topics that include conservation, habitat, diet, adaptations and biology and give you the opportunity to be up close and personal with these magnificent birds.

Our Talks and Workshops:

Classic Owl Talk

 

Duration: 60 minutes
Topics Covered: Survival skills and adaptations, owl communication, habitats, and Q&A
Cost: Starting from £350

 


Our most popular session features four captivating owls. Students will be introduced to each species with a fascinating fact-based presentation, culminating in a short flying demonstration as a special treat.

Raptor Talk

 

Duration: 60 minutes
Topics Covered: The world of raptors (including owls and birds of prey), modern falconry, conservation efforts, survival strategies, and habitat adaptations
Cost: Starting from £375

 


This immersive talk delves deeper into the realm of falconry and raptors, from owls to majestic eagles. Participants typically meet 4 to 5 birds, with a live flying demonstration from a bird of prey or owl included.

Nocturnal Animal Talk

 

Duration: 60–85 minutes
Topics Covered: Ethical exotic pet keeping, rescue and rehabilitation, reptile and exotic species care, conservation
Cost: Starting from £400

 


Our most interactive experience brings students up close to a variety of exotic species. Expect engaging encounters with a snake, a lizard, an invertebrate, and an exotic bird, such as an owl. Sessions may include hands-on, welfare-friendly interactions, and owl flying can be arranged upon request. This talk explores responsible pet ownership, rescue stories, and survival adaptations across a diverse range of nocturnal animals.

Classroom Workshops- ADD ON 

 

Classroom visits are available following the main talk. Each workshop lasts approximately 25 minutes and offers a deeper exploration into owls and their diets. Activities include:

• Owl pellet dissection

• Silent flight demonstration using real owl feathers
• Interactive Q&A session
• Meet-and-greet with our rats, who help illustrate the survival strategies of prey animals
