The Raptor Experience

The Kent Owl Academy is well known for our 5-star experience 'The Owl Encounter'. However, we wanted to offer more than just Owls to our guests. NEW to 2023 we bring 'The Raptor Experience'.

Get an introduction to Falconry from our team of keepers and our birds of prey. This hands-on session will give you the chance to get up close and personal to our breath-taking birds of prey, as well as including some Owls.

This experience runs for 2 hours and is available for 2 participants per session, which makes it very personal. You will be shown the basic ways of Falconry including:

-Flying

-Handling

-Weighing

-Food prep

-Health checks

As well as being introduced to different types of bird of prey such as Hawks, Falcons, Buzzards, and Owls.

Prices:

One participant: £75

Two participants:£120

Guest: £12.50

ALL GUESTS MUST BE PRE-PAID OR PRE-ARRANGED WHEN BOOKING

This experience is be purchased as a gift voucher that is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. The recipient then calls up to book their date with us directly. Validity extensions are available for expired vouchers. 

Duration: 2 HOURS (approx)

Please note: All of our vouchers are sent via email within 24-48 hours so keep an eye out for them and always check your spam boxes! 

Carers accompanying disabled guest come FREE :)

Please note that all experience day vouchers are valid for  the duration of the experience day only and not valid for entry to Kent Life outside of these times. Tickets for Kent Life can be bought separately on the day for a discounted rate should you wish to visit the attraction. (This does not apply to 'members' of Kent Life)

Terms and conditions

All of our experience days are weather permitting and we reserve the right to cancel experience days if the weather conditions are unsuitable for flying.

We pride ourselves on our amazing experience days, the only thing we can’t control is the weather! If the weather is looking bad on the day, we will call you on the contact number provided to us. (This could be as early as 9am on the day of your experience so please keep your phones on!) It is advised that you do not bring along infants with you on the day and arrange suitable care for them beforehand. 

Experience day vouchers are non-refundable. 

If you are worried about your experience day not going ahead as planned, you can always call us on the office phone and someone will be happy to speak with you. If your day is cancelled due to weather, we will re-book you onto the earliest convenient slot, this can be whenever is best for you.

Please remember that weekends are always best booked as far in advance as possible!

We ask that all participants please let us know in advance if there are any medical conditions or disabilities that we may need to be aware of. (Kent Life has full disabled access and we can accommodate for most medical conditions on our experience days). We will always have client safety in mind during all activities.
